share on BufferAs Grigory Butin explains, he tried to imagine how a future, all-electric MINI could look like. He based his concept on the idea of cutting off the entire front end, since the electric motors would be placed in the wheels area.
“Tending to create a new and provocative gesture for the design […], I’ve still tried to keep it timeless, recognizable and stylish at the same time.” explains the designer.
This led to a single-box shape, underlined by the arched silhouette, which takes inspiration from the lines of the original MINI and is the main defining feature of the new concept.
The overall surface treatment features clean shapes, and is coupled with low-stance, dynamic proportions.
The adoption of the monovolume body style also offered more freedom in the management of the interior spaces.
The interior echoes the simple lines of the exterior, combining the trademark, old-school MINI circular elements with a modernized look and up-to-date technology. The instrument panel has a floating design integrated with the steering wheel column.
The cabin also include colorful, playful elements typical of the brand: from the LED strips, to the safety belt, to the distinctive glass roof featuring a Jack Union flag graphic theme.
