As designer Ugur Sahin explains, “The mission for this design was simple yet challenging; “create a homage for the legendary F50”.”
“It was deemed crucial that the intricate balance of old and new must be maintained in a way that pays respect to the original design of the F50 while a modern reinterpretation maintains its core essence.”
Project FENIX features some of the iconic elements of the original, like the rear wing, and the transparent engine bay cover – which “were crucial elements to integrate into the new modern interpretation without overwhelming the general impression the car makes.”
Another trademark styling feature of the F50, its sweeping side line, is integrated to the body in order to create a dynamic stance and bring together the rest of the styling cues.
At the front end the headlights, encompassed by the air intakes, provide a visual extension of the side line, while the front middle air intake increases the aggressive stance while having enough surface area to compensate for optimal air flow.
The rear end is characterized by minimalistic tail lights which compliment the side line and enforce the modern look.
